Build the confidence to trust yourself in the therapy room.

Confidence Camp helps prelicensed and early-career mental health professionals work through imposter syndrome, session anxiety, and professional self-doubt so they can feel more grounded in the room and stop second-guessing every move.

A self-paced course and workbook with practical tools for nervous-system regulation, self-compassion, clinical uncertainty, and the everyday moments that make early clinical work feel so hard.

You knew how to be a student...

You knew how to read the articles, write the papers, study for the exam, and work hard for a good grade.

There's a certain kind of safety in that part of the process. The expectations were clear and the feedback was (usually) clear. If you put in the work, you could generally see how you were doing.

Then practicum arrived.

Suddenly, you're not just learning about the DSM, counseling theories, or clinical skills. You're sitting across from a real human for fifty minutes while they looked to you as the professional in the room! 😱

And you maybe you thought: “Wait. I'm not ready for this! How am I supposed to do this?”

Maybe you had supervision, but it still didn't get rid of the anxiety of getting through the session while wondering what in the world you're doing.

Maybe you worked with children and left sessions wondering whether you had done anything meaningful at all. You played Uno! while a child’s world was falling apart and thought, “Is this actually helping Does this make any difference?”

Maybe your first placement put you in the deep end with severe mental illness, addiction, homelessness, and crisis. Maybe you were in your twenties, sitting across from an adult who had lived through experiences you had never faced yourself.

Maybe you tried your best to hype yourself up in the car before work and still dreaded walking through the door every day.

You wanted to be an amazing therapist. Instead, you feel anxious, inadequate, and like everyone might eventually discover you don't know what you're doing.

If this is you, you're NOT alone.

The gap between knowing about therapy and actually doing therapy can feel enormous.

Graduate school can teach you theories, diagnoses, ethics, and interventions. It cannot fully simulate what it feels like to sit with a person in pain while managing your own uncertainty in real time.

That transition can create a perfect storm:

  • You're expected to act like an expert while still feeling like a beginner.

  • Your first clients may have needs far beyond what you expected to encounter so soon.

  • You may compare your beginning to someone else’s years of experience.

  • You may feel the pressure of an age or life-experience gap.

  • You may interpret a quiet client, a difficult session, or neutral feedback as proof that you're failing.

  • You may replay sessions at night because your brain is still trying to find certainty.

The result is not just a lack of confidence. It can become a cycle of nervous-system activation, overthinking, perfectionism, avoidance, and emotional exhaustion.

You might begin to wonder whether you even belong in this field at all.

But feeling unprepared for this transition does not mean you are unqualified for the profession.

It means you need a better way to understand what is happening and support yourself through it.

Hi! I'm Lacy👋🏼

I'm Lacy Warne, a licensed therapist, wife and mom of two, private practice owner of over 10 years.

Early in my career, I was anxious, insecure, and constantly questioning myself. It was awful, discouraging, and SO draining.

I created Confidence Camp because I'm passionate about helping other therapists have a better experience than I did. You shouldn't have to struggle in silence or spend years believing your self-doubt means you don't belong.

With more than a decade of experience in private practice, I bring lived experience, clinical perspective, and honest encouragement to the transition into this profession.

Confidence Camp is a practical path from the spiral to self-trust.

Confidence Camp gives you a process you can return to:

Understand what is happening → regulate the response → evaluate with compassion → act with greater clarity → recover and continue.

Understanding What's Happening

Learn why the transition into clinical work can feel destabilizing, how self-doubt becomes a cycle, and how nervous-system activation can affect the way you interpret your work.

Practice A Different Response

Use practical regulation tools, self-compassion practices, structured reflection, and realistic standards to interrupt perfectionism and post-session rumination.

Show Up With More Clarity

Practice asking for supervision, receiving feedback, repairing disconnection, staying present with clients, and leaving work without carrying sessions home with you.
